Hockwold Hall

A May wedding at the former royal residence and East of England venue of the year 2025.

I had the joy of photographing Daisy and Sam’s beautiful late spring wedding on what can only be described as a perfect English early summer day - sunny, hot and surrounded by lush meadows! I arrived mid-morning at Hockwold Hall, a former royal residence near Brandon, and fell immediately in love with the 16th century Tudor Hall.

Daisy and her bridesmaids got ready in the newly renovated bridal studio, tucked away in an outbuilding next to the main house, while Sam and his groomsmen got ready inside the main hall. Once hair and makeup were complete, Daisy moved into the elegant bridal suite for getting dressed and final preparations.

The outdoor ceremony then took place in the beautiful flower garden, one of the venue’s three ceremony options, with the sounds of Hockwold Hall’s famous peacocks in the background. Daisy and Sam exchanged vows under the garden pavilion surrounded by friends and family. After a joyful confetti toss, everyone gathered on the terrace for refreshing drinks while I stole the couple away for some family and couple portraits in the dappled shade of the gardens.

The celebrations continued in the grand marquee with a delicious wedding breakfast before guests spilling out onto the terrace and lawns to soak up the afternoon sun. I took Daisy and Sam for a quick and gentle late afternoon stroll through the gardens for a second set of couple portraits. As the day continued, speeches were shared, the cake was cut, the couple shared their first dance, and the live band got the dance floor moving.

If you’re looking for a Norfolk wedding venue with history, character, and beautiful outdoor and indoor ceremony spaces, Hockwold Hall is the one!
